Welcome
Hello and welcome to the Bridgeville Historical Society website. By viewing this website, we hope you will discover an interesting and informative history about Bridgeville and the surrounding area known as the northwest quadrant of Sussex County. As you read and view on the website, we hope you will find yourself becoming more and more immersed in the story of our rich and varied past.
Our small town, along with the surrounding farms and community, creates a peaceful and friendly atmosphere. In recent years we have witnessed some population growth as more and more people become enriched by the small pleasures and joys of Bridgeville.
Our history-inspired stories continue because of the contributions of previous residents and of their fond legacies, and because of the current residents who have discovered the charm and warmth of our town in its motto: "If You Lived Here, You Would Be Home Now…Delaware's Front Porch." We encourage all to share their enduring legacies in our home town and surrounding area celebrated as Bridgeville, DE.
Join us as we travel together through the wealth of history that we have before us!
